We are looking for 6 volunteers to join us on a cultural exchange volunteering mission in early 2025!
In January 2025, our Escuelita Rixiin Ya' project officially celebrates 1 year of supporting out of school children across Lake Atitlan in Guatemala. Now, we're opening this project up to the world - Giving 6 volunteers the chance to experience the beauty & culture of Guatemala whilst making a difference for those who need it.
WHAT IS OUR ESCUELITA RIXIIN YA' PROJECT?
Escuelita Rixiin Ya' means 'Little school on the lake', in a combination of both Spanish & Tz'utujil, the ancient Mayan langauge spoken around the town of Santiago, Atitlan, where our project is based.
Through this project, our local teachers work in 2 key locations, delivering free education to children who don't go to school. Our free education program focuses mainly on literacy and numeracy, but also seeks to improve Tz'utujil, Spanish & English skills, whilst allowing students to engage in many other relevant cultiural activities, such as permaculture, arts & sports.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We're looking for 6 enthusiastic individuals to join us as volunteers on a unique cultural exchange volunteering mission in January 2025.
