As you'll be aware, the COVID-19 global pandemic has caused mass disruption to travel, trade & almost every other industry, including the non-profit sector. However, despite the disruption, disarray & confusion, we're remaining in good spirits & we urge you to do the same!
As you scroll, you'll see a small poem & photo that we've attached - After seeing these, we really shifted our perspective &
acknowledged our
privilege of being able to isolate in a comfortable setting. Unfortunately for many of the people we work with, they don't have this privilege.
With that being said, we owe all of our supporters & volunteers an update as to the direction of Learn Achieve Become during the pandemic & after it has subsided.
VOLUNTEERING / EXPEDITIONS
Unfortunately, for the safety of our volunteers & staff, all volunteering & expedition opportunities have been postponed until we see it safe to resume. Although we don't want to take these measures, they are for the safety of our staff, volunteers & beneficiaries, which is of our upmost concern. We
will still be accepting applications for volunteering & expeditions, but we may have to re-arrange your dates to a more suitable time.. Don't worry though, we'll keep you updated every step of the way!
S.E.N CENTRE - NOSY BE, MADAGASCAR
For those of you that follow us closely, you'll know that in April 2020 we were due to begin construction on our new S.E.N centre with the help of our partners at
Madagascar Research & Conservation Institute. Unfortunately, construction & all subsequent actions of this project have been postponed indefinitely. But,we're both eager to start work as soon as possible & construction will begin at a time we both deem it appropriate & safe to do so.
SOCIAL DISTANCING... WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Currently, all of our trustees, staff & volunteers are following the appropriate social distancing guidelines & remaining indoors as much as possible! On the bright side, our time indoors has lead us to creating this new website.
Keep calm, keep safe, hopefully things will return to normal as soon as possible :)
